Dental professionals may find that breathing is not as easy as it used to be when wearing N95 masks. This article describes 5 breathing exercises that can bring relief from air hunger as well as the stress accompanying it, (with supporting research). In a nutshell, the practices are as follows:
- Pursed-lips: In through nose, out through pursed lips.
- Diaphragmatic: In through nose filling lower belly, out through mouth.
- Alternate Nostril: In through left nostril, out through right nostril.
- Jaw Release: In through nose, out with jaw wide, sticking out tongue, HA sound.
