Welcome to WSOMSWSOMS is a voluntary partnership of dental professionals working together to improve the quality of oral and maxillofacial surgery services in the community. It is the belief of the Society that professional, political, social and economic exchange between states of the Sixth District of the AAOMS will result in a unity of voice which will enhance our effectiveness in our community and at the national level. To the members that participated in the 2023 Caucus and HOD, thank you for your hard work, time, and efforts. To all members participating in vertical membership and supporting WSOMS, a HUGE thank you. WSOMS has made great strides in 2023 and has some great plans for 2024. Currently, we are planning a long over-due in-person Caucus for 2024 offering the OBEAM training and a half day of continuing education. Upcoming projects include a comprehensive email list for WSOMS, assisting states with member enrollment and engagement, and website development. 2023 will be the year remembered for WSOMS getting back on its feet. We are grateful for those that trusted us to move forward and without hesitation gave to the cause. It is only with a high degree of participation that we have been able to make these significant strides and accomplishments. In 2024 we need to be ever vigilant to support WSOMS. Special thank you to the WSOMS Board of Directors for taking the time needed to be forward-thinking and looking towards WSOMS’ future. More About our Board |

Why Join WSOMSThe WSOMS doesn’t replicate what state and national organizations already provide. We offer something unique and necessary: NetworkingMembers have the opportunity to meet oral and maxillofacial surgeons throughout the nine western states through meetings, networking events, conferences, and more. It provides a great opportunity to gain confidence in district-wide and national recommendations for patients. Continuing EducationWe offer superior quality programs and presentations to continue our professional development virtually and in-person. National RecognitionBeing a part of an association with nine member states and a thousand+ members lends a presence on a national level with the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS). This is especially important for states with smaller organizations to ensure their concerns are heard. There is power in numbers. We get things done. Legislative PresenceWSOMS District VI is a dynamic and influential legislative presence. Time and time again, this authority has proved absolutely critical in warding off threats to the interests of our professions within the nine member states. |
